講義概要/Course description
This course serves as an introduction to the world of radio broadcasting and broadcast journalism.Students will learn foundational skills in news writing, reporting and the creative use of audio. The emphasis will be on grammar, spelling, punctuation and journalistic style, along with accuracy, completeness, and writing for the ear.


達成目標/Course objectives
- to learn to write in broadcast journalism style, paying attention to the 5-Ws
- to learn to construct a basic radio news story using the inverted-pyramid format
- to learn to identify and evaluate news and information sources, conduct professional interviews and gather information

This class makes use of the instructor's hands-on experience as a radio broadcaster in learning to write for radio, developing a speaking voice and in completing radio projects.
